War Horse is to return to London for a run in new venue Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre.
The new space, from the team behind the King’s Cross Theatre, will open in the summer, with War Horse playing there from October 18 to November 23, as part of its UK tour.
The inaugural production at the theatre, which will be a flexible space that can seat up to 2,000 people, has yet to be announced.
War Horse is directed by Marianne Elliott and Tom Morris, and originally ran at the National Theatre in 2007.
The NT has also announced that Inua Ellams’ Barber Shop Chronicles is to return to London, with a run at the Roundhouse in Camden, from July 18 to August 24.
Further casting has also been revealed for other productions in its forthcoming season, including Leah Harvey, Aisling Loftus and Gershwyn Eustache Jnr in Small Island, directed by Rufus Norris and adapted from the book of the same name by Andrea Levy.
Small Island, which runs in the Olivier Theatre, begins previews from April 17.
Meanwhile, James McArdle will star in David Hare’s version of Peer Gynt, from June, and Justine Mitchell has joined the cast of Rutherford and Son, alongside Roger Allam. This previews from May in the Lyttelton.
In the Dorfman, Phoebe Fox has been cast in Anna, created by Ella Hickson, with Ben and Max Ringham.
