James Graham’s The Vote will return for a live performance on the night of the general election later this week, with a cast that includes Catherine Tate, Mark Gatiss and Nina Sosanya.
The Vote, created in 2015 by Graham and director Josie Rourke, is set in real time over the final 90 minutes of polling, and was initially staged at the Donmar Warehouse over the 2015 election and was broadcast live on More 4 on election night.
The Vote 2019 will take place at Bush House Auditorium in central London on December 12.
Rourke said: “Putting this show together back in 2015 was the most fun I’ve had in a theatre. I love the idea of updating James’ affectionate and wise comedy for the 2019 election. It’s glorious to bring so many of these actors back together, and I hope it’s a reunion that becomes a tradition.”
Tate, Gatiss and Sosanya are all returning to the cast, with the 24-strong company also including Michael Shaeffer, Hadley Fraser, Rosalie Craig, MyAnna Buring, Jackie Clune, Paul Chahidi and Fisayo Akinde.
It will be produced by Nica Burns and Nimax Theatres.
