Chicago confirms new UK tour cast

Coronation Street star Faye Brookes and popstar Sinitta have been confirmed for the UK tour of Chicago, opening later this year.

Brookes will play Roxie Hart in the production, while Sinitta will play Mama Morton.

Lead casting also includes Djalenga Scott as Velma Kelly, Joel Montague as Amos Hart and RuPaul’s Drag Race UK star Divina De Campo as Mary Sunshine. Casting for Billy Flynn is yet to be announced.

The musical is set to open in September, with venues and dates announced soon.

Chicago is produced by David Ian with Barry and Fran Weissler. It has music by John Kander and lyrics by Fred Ebb, with a book by Ebb and Bob Fosse.

The production is based on the 1996 Broadway revival, which was choreographed by Anne Reinking in the style of Bob Fosse, and directed by Walter Bobbie.
