Theatre Royal Bury St Edmunds has opened its doors as a warm space this winter to help people struggling with the cost-of-living crisis.
The Toasty Tuesdays initiative will run on Tuesdays for a 10-week run from December 6 until March 7, from 10am until 12.30pm.
Theatre Royal artistic director Owen Calvert-Lyons said: "We want to provide a welcoming, warm space for those who are struggling with heating their homes this winter.
"Theatre Royal is a place that welcomes, engages and connects with the local community, and by joining this fantastic initiative, we can provide anyone who needs it with a safe, warm space to have a chat, meet new people or simply enjoy a hot drink and sit down in our beautiful building."
The project is funded by West Suffolk Council’s Winter Response Fund and is in conjunction with Rural Coffee Caravan’s Warm Spaces project, Baileys 2 coffee bistro and The Crafty Foxes.
Complimentary hot and cold drinks, freshly made vegetable soup with bread, and fresh fruit will be provided by Baileys 2.
Free Wi-Fi and access to device charging points and baby-changing facilities will be available.
The space is also wheelchair accessible.
In October, Alphabetti Theatre in Newcastle extended its opening hours to provide a space for people to keep warm during the cost-of-living crisis this winter.
