A competition has been launched to find the next female musical theatre star. The winner will appear in a concert alongside performers including Louise Dearman and Ria Jones.
The competition has been launched by the recently established production company Lambert Jackson, which is producing There Is Nothin’ Like a Dame – 100 Years of Women in Musical Theatre in August.
It will star Dearman and Jones, alongside Alexia Khadime and Rachel Tucker, and the winner will perform a solo as part of the show at the Cadogan Hall, London.
The competition is open to all women, but entrants must be available on August 29 and 30 for a rehearsal and the show itself.
Applicants have to submit a one-minute video recording of any musical theatre song to eliza@lambertjackson.co.uk by July 30.
The winner will be selected by a judging panel including Jamie Lambert, chief executive of Lambert Jackson, and Eliza Jackson, the company’s creative director.
The winner will be notified by August 6.
