Donmar creates role for literary and editorial manager

London’s Donmar Warehouse has created the new position of literary and editorial manager, as the venue looks to cement its commitment to original work.

The literary manager will be responsible for overseeing the running of the Donmar’s literary department, including the management of the submissions processes.

Working with artistic director Josie Rourke, the manager will also develop the theatre’s relationships with writers and oversee residencies.

The venue’s recent commissions of original productions include James Graham’s The Vote, Temple by Steve Waters and the forthcoming Elegy by writer-in-residence Nick Payne.

It said the new post reflects its “ongoing commitment to new work, alongside revivals of contemporary classics”.
