Amber Massie-Blomfield to leave Camden People’s Theatre

Amber Massie-Blomfield, the executive director of Camden People’s Theatre in London, is to step down next year.

Massie-Blomfield joined the theatre in 2014, having previously been head of communications at London arts organisation the Albany.

During her tenure, CPT has seen a 63% growth in turnover and an increase of 66% in audience numbers, the theatre said. Massie-Blomfield has also worked on projects such as the theatre’s ethnic diversity programme and the Camden Youth theatre.

She said: “I have absolutely loved working alongside artistic director Brian Logan to build on the achievements of my predecessors and am hugely proud of how the organisation has developed.”

“I will be very sad to say goodbye to my wonderful colleagues, but it is the right time for me to move on to new challenges.”

Massie-Blomfield will step down at the beginning of 2018, and will go on to freelance as an arts producer and consultant, as well as developing her non-fiction writing.

Kate McGrath, chair of the board at CPT, commented: “She’s done a great job and we wish her huge success with her future plans.

“There are great opportunities ahead for an incoming executive director,” she added.

CPT will start the recruitment process for a replacement this week, with the aim of announcing a successor before the end of 2017.
