About ’Pitching and Treatments for Screen’
This new two-day course at Guildhall School of Music & Drama aims to demystify the pitching process and help you find the confidence to sell your ideas for the screen. You will learn the difference between a pitch and a treatment and the important role these have in selling your script to production companies and agents, explore previous pitches for film and TV and create your very own treatment.

Who is this course for?

  • Writers who have written their first script or have an idea and are looking at how to approach production companies and agents.
  • All levels are welcome but you should have an idea for television or film that you can work on throughout the course.
  • There is no upper age limit on this course. We encourage and welcome participants from all ages 18 and over.

What can I expect?
This is a practical course with group and individual writing exercises and the opportunity to complete a finished treatment or outline.

You can expect to learn about:

  • What to include in your pitch document
  • How to pitch your film and TV ideas
  • Demystifying the process of working in television
  • By the end of the course, you will have gained confidence to pitch your ideas to industry professionals.
