Discover the unique playing conditions of our indoor theatre, the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse, in this practical introduction for professional actors. Following a short tour of our two theatres, you’ll spend two and a half hours on stage in the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse.
Guided by a member of our expert faculty, you will explore how the distinctive actor-audience relationship in the Playhouse can change our understanding of Shakespeare’s text and work collaboratively with your fellow actors to try out approaches to performing in the space.
This three hour session will provide a safe and supportive space to explore, play and connect creatively. These workshops are aimed at trained actors who would like to gain more experience with Shakespeare, including those who have not worked with Shakespeare’s texts before.
