Our practical Drama Course for ages 11–18, will develop and teach acting skills through fun weekly classes. All students will take part in at least three separate sessions and learn more about their voice, movement and physical skills, such as understanding body language and non-verbal communication. A wide range of text based, non-text and improvised approaches will be used.
Suitable for beginners, those who simply want to spend a few hours exploring their imagination with newfound friends or are thinking about taking their passion for drama a step further. You will be offered a tailor-made timetable before you start, based on your interests and experience stated on your enrolment form. This will be updated as you progress and develop your creative interests.
All students from the Drama and Music Course for ages 11–18, will come together each Saturday and sing in a choir. This will enable them to warm up their vocal muscles, work as a team and get to know each other. Starting at 9am and finishing at 12pm, students on the Drama Course will have two hours, 45 minutes of lesson time (with a 15 minute break).
Drama students will come together with music and production arts students to create innovative performances. These will be staged at the centre and other arts venues. Visits from Guildhall School drama students and tutors will give students the opportunity to further develop their skills and ask any questions they might have.
