The purpose of BA Content, Media and Film Production is to inspire the next generation of creative screen entrepreneurs, equipping them with the knowledge, critical thinking skills, professional skills, and the mindset to develop a range of filmed projects to their intended audiences.
This course challenges you to create content in multiple audio-visual contexts. You will work on a range of different media formats, including film, TV, social impact storytelling, branded content, podcasts, websites, and a graduation project of your choice.
This programme equips students to think across different forms of media, to make exciting connections, and to ultimately become both entrepreneurial and employable by the time they graduate.
Why Take the Course?
Multidisciplinary: Students will learn practical filmmaking skills within the context of multiple areas of the screen industry. This includes areas such as film, TV, advertising, music videos, UX, and podcasting. Students will benefit from a module system where they acquire knowledge and understanding about the evolving media landscape, learn about storytelling, analytics, audience media consumption, and contemporary trends in delivering video content.
Practitioner Tutors: Learn digital video production skills from professionals who are active in the media industries, ensuring that the skills learned will be relevant and up to date.
Interaction with Industry: Each semester, an Industry Partner from a creative brief will set a brief, and students will produce content for them as part of their assessment. Our previous partners include Twitter, Amazon Studios, Golin, BFI, and TikTok. The Industry Partner will provide a brief, provide feedback on student pitches, and at the end of the semester, feedback on the final product.
Portfolio: Coupled with practical experience, students will emerge from their degrees with a portfolio of professional content, and a business plan to help them navigate the complex media and creative industries job market.
