Our Company Rehearsal course focuses on the study and presentation of a musical or company scenes as a rehearsed performance, facilitated by an experienced Director, Choreographer and Musical Director. It provides an opportunity for people age 16+ with some previous experience to work towards a sharing in a workshop setting.
Throughout the 10 week course students will explore and workshop the musicals of composer Stephen Schwartz, whose work includes Pippin, Godspell, The Baker’s Wife and of course Wicked! The course provides the opportunity for participants to develop their rehearsal and performance experience. Students will work collaboratively on all elements central to the creation of a musical theatre production, with consideration of the specific context of the work.
The course is practical and aims to challenge participants both technically and creatively. The rehearsal process will be similar to what you would experience in a professional rehearsal room. It will involve a supportive and collaborative process and you will be expected to contribute ideas and work as an ensemble.
The presentation will consist of excerpts from the musical. You will be expected to rehearse at home between classes to ensure a dynamic and engaging performance.
