BA (Hons) Actor Musician (3 Year)

FacebookTwitterLinkedIn

Leeds Conservatoire’s Actor Musician degree, which boasts 30 hours training a week and across 30 weeks of the year, focusses on the development of students as performers and theatre-makers and musicians, investigating devising techniques, collaborative music making, translation and adaptation to explore new forms of theatre, find new stories and interrogate tradition.

This Actor Musician programme is applicable for the classically-trained Cellist who wants technical tuition throughout the programme, but also beatboxers, pop artists and electronic music producers. Training in a contemporary conservatoire environment promotes collaboration and invention across the musical genres.

Practical sessions will be taught in small groups for individualised training and workshops, masterclasses and on-campus productions will further develop your skills. You will work towards full scale public performances in your third year, including a professional showcase where casting agents and industry insiders will be invited to watch you perform.

Leeds Conservatoire is committed to widening access to the performing arts, offering free auditions for every applicant who applies. The programme has been developed with industry partners, including Red Ladder Theatre Company. These relationships not only ensure the programmes relevance in the industry but also place these courses firmly at the centre of theatre-making in the region and beyond.
