The Memory of Water – Nottingham Playhouse

Katy Stephens stars in a revival of Shelagh Stephenson’s play about three estranged sisters who return home for their mother’s funeral. Adele Thomas’ production opens on May 7.

Death of a Salesman – Young Vic, London

Cresting the recent wave of high-profile Arthur Miller revivals, Marianne Elliott’s new staging of one of his greatest plays features an eye-poppingly exciting cast. Wendell Pierce and Arinzé Kene star with Sharon D Clarke in the production, which opens on May 9.

Die! Die! Die! Old People Die! – Battersea Arts Centre, London

Part of a trilogy of work by the innovative company Ridiculusmus at Battersea Arts Centre this month, the show explores death, grief and growing old. It opens on May 9.

The Provoked Wife – Swan Theatre, Stratford-upon-Avon

Fresh from playing Sancho Panza in the West End, Rufus Hound joins Les Dennis in Phillip Breen’s new production of John Vanbrugh’s restoration comedy for the Royal Shakespeare Company. It opens on May 9.

Henry IV Parts 1 and 2, Henry V – Shakespeare’s Globe, London

Michelle Terry begins her second season as artistic director of Shakespeare’s Globe with a trio of history plays, starring Terry herself as Hotspur opposite Helen Schlesinger’s Falstaff. Sarah Amankwah plays Henry V. All three plays open in a triple bill on May 10.
