Nica Burns OBE is a multi-award winning theatre producer. She is Chief Executive of Nimax Theatres Limited and co-owns six London theatres. She was made a Fellow of University College London in 2007 and elected President of the Society of London Theatre (2008 – 2010) and Vice President (2011–2013). In 2013 she won Private Business Woman of the Year and also received an OBE for services to theatre in the New Year’s honours list. In 2020 The Stage newspaper awarded her Producer of the Year.
Since 1984, when she was Artistic Director of the Donmar, Burns has been Director of the annual Edinburgh Comedy Awards.
Her most recent productions include the hit musical Everybody’s Talking About Jamie currently playing at the Apollo theatre and the Olivier award winning musical City of Angels at the Garrick theatre.
She is currently building a flexible space theatre on Charing Cross Road.
