Andrew Scott, Ian McKellen and Julian Rhind-Tutt have been nominated for best actor at the 2015 BBC Audio Drama Awards.
Scott, who is nominated for Slipping by Claudine Toutoungi, is up against McKellen, for Eugenie Grandet by Honore de Balzac and dramatised by Rose Treamin, and Rhind-Tutt, nominated for The Real Trial of Oscar Wilde by Nick Stafford.
In the best actress in an audio drama category, Aisling Loftus is nominated for Educator by Hayley Squires, alongside Charlotte Riley and Ellie Kendrick, who are nominated for Toutoungi’s Slipping and How to Say Goodbye Properly by EV Crowe respectively.
Meanwhile, Everyday Time Machines by Al Smith, Everything, Nothing, Harvey Keitel by Pjek Malinovski and Men Who Sleep in Cars by Michael Symmons Roberts are all nominated for best original audio drama.
Elsewhere, the shortlist for best scripted comedy drama is made up of Believe It: Victor by John Canter, I’m a Believer, also by Canter and Marcy Kahan’s Lunch.
The awards will be announced at a ceremony in the Radio Theatre at BBC Broadcasting House on February 1, and are judged by a panel including actors Imogen Stubbs and Nina Wadia, theatre director Nicholas Kent and The Stage’s news editor, Matt Hemley.
