Sound designers Ben and Max Ringham are among the winners at the BBC Audio Drama Awards 2023, as the art form celebrates 100 years.
The Ringham brothers won best original series or serial for their first audio drama Exemplar with playwright Dan Rebellato and producers Jade Lewis and Polly Thomas.
The awards, which celebrate new and established talent in audio drama, were announced on March 19 at Broadcasting House’s Radio Theatre in London.
Other winners included actor, producer and director Martin Jarvis, who was presented with the lifetime achievement award.
Best actor was won by Anton Lesser for his role in One Five Seven Years on BBC Radio 4 and BBC Sounds, with the best actress award going to Mary Murray for The Pride of Parnell Street on BBC Radio 3.
Playwright Tanika Gupta won best adaptation for her adaptation of Monica Ali’s debut novel, Brick Lane, on BBC Radio 4.
The Radio Drama Company was presented with a special award for outstanding contribution for its role in developing new talent over the past century.
The BBC’s chief content officer Charlotte Moore said: “Huge congratulations to all the winners of the BBC Audio Drama Awards. What an amazing line up of talent, and so many mesmerising performances and captivating stories.
"It’s an extra special occasion as we’re also celebrating the centenary of the unique art form that is BBC Radio Drama, which has been an important part of the BBC from the start.
