Cast members for the revival of From Here to Eternity at Charing Cross Theatre have been announced.
The show’s world premiere took place in London in 2013. Now, almost 10 years later, a new production of the Tim Rice and Stuart Brayson musical will open October 29 and run until December 17, with a press night on November 8.
The cast includes Jonny Amies, Jonathon Bentley, Desmonda Cathabel, Leonard Cook, Kyerron Dixon-Bassey, Sarah Drake, Dominic Adam Griffin, Cassius Hackforth, Robin Hayward, Callum Henderson, James Mateo-Salt, Rhys Nuttall, Jack Ofrecio, Jaden Oshenye, Eve Polycarpou, Adam Rhys-Charles, Carley Stenson, Alan Turkington and Joseph Vella.
Adapted from the James Jones novel, the musical has lyrics by Rice, music by Brayson, a book by Donald Rice and Bill Oakes and direction by Brett Smock.
Rice said: “It’s wonderful to have From Here To Eternity back in London. Since its world premiere in the West End in 2013, there have been two excellent productions in North America, both directed by Brett Smock, and I’m delighted he’s bringing the latest iteration of the show back across the Pond.
"Katy Lipson and her team [Aria Entertainment] are the perfect partners: young, dynamic and energetic - like the fighting men of G Company. It’s been a treat to get back to the writing desk with Brayson, too. If you like your musicals soft and fluffy, this show is not for you. We have nothing to offer but danger, betrayal, heartbreak, hope, blood, sweat and tears.”
Also on the creative team are set and costume designer Stewart Charlesworth, with musical direction and orchestrations by Nick Barstow and choreography by Cressida Carré.
They are joined by lighting designer Adam King, projection designer Louise Rhodes-Brown, costume supervisor Lucy Lawless, casting director Jane Deitch and production manager James Anderton.
It is produced by Aria Entertainment, Bill Kenwright, and Heartaches Limited.
