Macbeth starring David Tennant and Cush Jumbo will be screened in cinemas across the UK and abroad following its West End run.
The production, directed by Max Webster and characterised by a "3D sound world" created by binaural technology, was filmed live for the big screen during its original run at London’s Donmar Warehouse.
The live recording is now set to be screened to cinemas across the UK, US, Australia and selected international territories from February 5, 2025, with tickets on sale from October 16.
It will be distributed by Trafalgar Releasing, part of Trafalgar Entertainment, in partnership with the Donmar Warehouse.
Donmar Warehouse artistic director Tim Sheader and executive director Henny Finch said they were delighted that the production was set to reach new audiences, adding: "It’s so exciting to think that thousands of global audiences will now get to experience this brilliant cast and the intimacy of the Donmar in their local cinema."
Trafalgar Releasing chief executive Marc Allenby added: "Theatre continues to be a significant driver of cinema box office revenue and is a priority genre for Trafalgar Releasing as we grow our wide-ranging portfolio of cultural content captured especially for the big screen."
