Mel Giedroyc will join Patti LuPone and Rosalie Craig in the forthcoming West End production of Company, it has been announced.
Best known for presenting the Great British Bake Off with her long-time comedy partner Sue Perkins, Giedroyc last appeared on stage in Luce at Southwark Playhouse in 2016.
She will play Sarah in Sondheim’s Company, which is directed by Marianne Elliott and co-produced by her theatre company Elliott and Harper Productions.
Elliott said Giedroyc had “all the qualities [she] was looking for in the role of Sarah”.

Craig stars as in the lead role of Bobbi, which has been reimagined as a woman for the first time, with Broadway performer Patti LuPone appearing as Joanne.

It has design by Bunny Christie, choreography by Liam Steel and musical direction by Joel Fram.
