Producers of the Mamma Mia! international tour have extended the musical’s run in Blackpool by two weeks.
The show had been due to run at the Blackpool Opera House from June 20 to August 31. It will now play until September 14.
Blackpool will be the only UK venue outside of London to host the musical this year.
Nick Grace, associate producer of the Mamma Mia! international tour, said “I am absolutely delighted that Blackpool has already fallen in love with Mamma Mia!. We always believed the show would be the perfect summer season in Blackpool and we are delighted to be adding extra final dates due to the phenomenal demand for tickets.”
The tour is currently in Korea and will soon be in Basel, Switzerland.
Its cast includes real-life husband and wife, Richard Standing and Sara Poyzer, as Donna Sheridan and Sam Carmichael.
The show has music and lyrics by Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus and is written by Catherine Johnson. It is directed by Phyllida Lloyd and choreographed by Anthony Van Laast, with production design by Mark Thompson, lighting design by Howard Harrison, sound design by Andrew Bruce and Bobby Aitken, and musical supervision by Martin Koch.
