Jon Morgan has been named new director of the Theatres Trust.
Morgan, who is currently director of the Federation of Scottish Theatre, replaces Mhora Samuel. Samuel, the first female director of the trust, stepped down earlier this year after a decade in the role.
The post has been filled on an interim basis by Rebecca Morland.
Morgan said he was looking forward to continuing the “vital” work the trust does to help “preserve and build the very best theatre spaces”.
He has worked at the Federation of Scottish Theatre since 2008, and other previous roles include director of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, and executive producer at Contact Theatre in Manchester.
Announcing the appointment, chairman Tim Eyles said: “We [the Theatres Trust] are keen to capitalise on all opportunities to increase our influence in the industry and I believe Jon Morgan shares both our passion and vision for the trust. I am confident he will be an inspirational leader and I am looking forward to our working together.”
Morgan will take up the post in January.
