Site-specific theatre company Dreamthinkspeak is to bring a new production to London’s Somerset House early next year.
In the Beginning Was the End is inspired by an apocalyptic Leonardo Da Vinci painting, the Bible’s final Book of Revelation and a form of engineering called mechatronics.
The large-scale promenade performance will run from January 28 to March 30, 2013, with press night on February 5.
Conceived by Dreamthinkspeak artistic director Tristan Sharps, the production will take place in underground passages that link King’s College with Somerset House.
Live performance alongside film and installations will be combined in the piece. A team of builders will collaborate with engineers, 3D video practitioners, electronic technicians and lab workers from King’s College physics department to create the effects.
The show is co-commissioned by Somerset House Trust, King’s Cultural Institute and TippingPoint and is sponsored by Bloomberg.
