Keith Ramsay has become the latest recipient of The Stage Edinburgh Award for his performance in Eve: All About Her.
The production, which is performed, created and produced by the actor and cabaret star, is running at Gilded Balloon at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
Eve: All About Her was described by reviewer Paul Vale as a "visceral cabaret performance exploring the intense lure of the spotlight" through a monologue deconstructing a fascination with the 1950 Joseph L Mankiewicz movie All About Eve.
The Stage reviews editor Natasha Tripney described Ramsay’s performance as "quite extraordinary", adding: "He has a rich and versatile voice and a wonderfully expressive face, with something of the silent film star about him.
"He’s a force on stage. It feels like you’re watching an act of possession."
Ramsay is the third winner to be announced for The Stage Edinburgh Awards 2022, which celebrate performances at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. The other winners so far are Samuel Barnett for Feeling Afraid As If Something Terrible Is Going to Happen and Michael Dylan for his role in Wilf at the Traverse Theatre.
