Becky Atkinson has been appointed to lead the Lawrence Batley Theatre in Huddersfield, replacing Henry Filloux-Bennett.
Having been executive director at the venue since 2019, she now becomes chief executive of the theatre, which will also encompass the responsibilities of artistic director.
Filloux-Bennett left his role as chief executive and artistic director to become executive director and deputy chief executive of Home in Manchester.
Prior to joining the Lawrence Batley Theatre, Atkinson spent three years as company co-ordinator at contemporary dance organisation Company Chameleon.
She said: "Since joining the organisation in 2019 we have gone through a global pandemic, a major capital redevelopment project and all the challenges of reopening an arts venue in difficult times and there is nothing that this amazing team cannot do.
"As a proud Huddersfield local, the theatre has been a huge part of my own journey in arts and culture and I am passionate about ensuring the theatre is at the heart of the community, providing world class entertainment and activities for the people of Kirklees."
