Lynette Linton and Daniel Bailey have received a special award at this year’s Offies.
The outgoing artistic director and associate artistic director of London’s Bush Theatre were honoured at the Off West End Theatre Awards’ 15th anniversary ceremony on March 17, in recognition of the pair’s six years spent leading the venue.
Mischief Theatre, which recently marked 10 years of presenting work in the West End, also received a special award at a prize-giving that celebrated the work of performers such as Victoria Hamilton-Barritt and directors including Tom Littler.
The celebration of Off-West End theatre took place at Central Hall Westminster, in an event hosted by drag artist Divina De Campo.
Denholm Spurr, executive producer of the Offies, called the awards "unique".
"Nowhere else is there an awards system of this scale, scope and rigour – assessing thousands of shows across hundreds of venues through an unparalleled cohort of assessors.
"These assessors – practitioners and enthusiasts alike – make the Offies the most deeply embedded theatre network in existence," Spurr said.
