Following funding cuts to a number of new-writing organisations including Hampstead Theatre, the Gate Theatre and Stockroom, and complaints from playwrights about rates of pay and the sector’s talent development pipeline, we discuss how British theatre can ensure a thriving future for its creative engine: writers.
