Royal Opera’s Oliver Mears: ‘We are still adapting to the times, but our ambition is just as strong’

As Covent Garden prepares for full reopening, director of opera Oliver Mears tells George Hall how making work during the pandemic has inspired the company to innovate while maintaining high artistic standards
