Actor Sam Spruell: ‘Working with heavyweights makes you raise your game’

Sam Spruell is most recognisable from his portrayal of villains of stage and screen, from Othello’s Iago to Doctor Who’s Swarm. He tells Theo Bosanquet about the joy of working with acclaimed actors and directors, and returning to theatre after almost five years in a revival of Doubt, a play he feels is ‘really right’ for these polarised times
