Described as a “a poet of the east end overspill” by The Observer, David Eldridge is widely regarded as one of the prominent playwriting voices of his generation. His award-winning plays have premiered across the UK and internationally, at venues including the National Theatre, the Royal Court, the Royal Exchange and the Almeida Theatre and Donmar Warehouse.
His plays include Under the Blue Sky, Festen (adapted from the Dogme 95 film), Market Boy, In Basildon, Beginning and Middle. He is under commission to the National Theatre for the final play in his trilogy, End. He also writes for television and radio and is a Lecturer in Creative Writing at Birkbeck College, University of London.
