FacebookTwitterLinkedIn

This summer, Bristol Old Vic Theatre School invites you to take part in our programme of intensive short courses, each designed to broaden and sharpen your acting skills. These courses are open to anyone aged 18+ with an interest in acting – you may be starting out in acting and enjoy performing as a hobby, or a seasoned professional seeking to learn new approaches or refresh your knowledge.

Acting for Camera, Monday 29 July – Friday 2 August, 2024 | £570 | Intermediate, age 18+

The Acting for Camera – Intermediate course has been designed to support those with some experience of screen acting to hone their skills. Whether you act as a hobby, have taken part in university productions, or are considering full-time conservatoire training, the programme will support you in your development as a performer.

On this course you will:

> Enhance your understanding of acting for camera through step-by-step acting exercises;

> Develop your creative instincts by exploring techniques developed by Meisner;

> Conduct text analysis to translate scripts into believable performances;

> Perform scene work on camera and watch digital playback to enhance your learning;

> Obtain direct feedback from the course leader.

This course builds upon the foundational skills taught as part of the beginner level Acting for Camera course in April 2024. However, it is not mandatory to attend the beginner level course prior to attending the intermediate course. We welcome individuals with a working knowledge of performing for camera to sign up directly to this course.
